The primary aim of this project is to establish a user-friendly interface for a pet expert consultation business, facilitating the owner's tracking of client and pet information for streamlined consultation scheduling. Presented as a real-world challenge by Western Governors University, students like Monica Nieckula are tasked with rejuvenating a website in dire need of modernization, plagued by issues such as non-functioning links, missing images, and a lack of mobile or ADA compliance.
In designing the interface, Monica emphasized multiple user personas, catering to general visitors and specific pet owners of cats, dogs, and birds. The design ensures that users, irrespective of their device or pet type, find the content relevant and accessible. Her original code, devoid of templates, guarantees ADA and WCAG standard alignment, underlining her dedication to creating an optimal, accessible user experience.
In this project, students are provided with a scenario in which they are a UX designer working for a company that is developing a travel website for an Island. The student is tasked with creating a prototype of the travel website, and then testing the prototype with users. The student will then use the results of the user testing to make improvements to the prototype.
This website was created without the use of a template and is fully responsive. Users are able to book experiences, attractions, and learn about the island's culture. Images (and media) were taken from Google Images and and Youtube and are not owned by the creator of this website. This website is for educational purposes only. Form submissions are not functional as this is a prototype.
Bryanna envisioned a digital hub to flaunt her prowess in nutrition and physical training, and Monica Nieckula brought that vision to life. Starting with a template, Monica artfully reshaped it to perfectly encapsulate Bryanna's brand ethos for "Nourish & Grow". Beyond mere development, Monica infused her graphic design expertise into the site's visuals and even contributed to content creation, aiding Bryanna in curating the perfect narrative. Primarily optimized for mobile devices, given the preferences of Bryanna's clientele, the website stands as a responsive, integrated platform connecting visitors with Bryanna's expertise and her bustling social media channels.
The client came to me in desperate need for a quickly built landing page and a logo for his pop-up Colorado-based asphalt company. I was able to quickly build a landing page for him and create a logo that he was happy with. The client was very happy with the results and I was able to complete the project in a timely manner. Currently speaking, the website is no longer in use as the client has since moved on from this venture. He found the process of working together seamless and enjoyed the Agile methodology that I used to complete the project. By actively communicating and gathering feedback from the client, I was able to ensure that time and resources were used efficiently. The trustworthy website and logo were able to help the client gain more business and increase their revenue. Because of this, he was able to secure state contracts and grow his business. Once the season was over, he decided to move on from the business.
